I'd suggest contacting the currently listed maintainer and asking them
if they would like to join you in collaborating on the resumption of
maintainence of apt-spy. I'd suggest importing the available history
of the software into a git repository and maintaining it in
collab-maint:

I'd suggest also contacting the other maintainers of the package to
find out if they have a version control repository somewhere. You
might be able to find more versions of the package using google and
