Then the question, raised earlier in this thread, needs to be
considered: Why should this un-maintained work be packaged for Debian?

Is someone (you?) willing to take on the role of upstream developer for
the indefinite future?

Does it have a game level editor? If so, perhaps part of the packaging
effort could be to create some free levels to replace the non-free ones.
