From watching -mentors, I'd say most of the sponsors think you should be 
aware of the --pedantic warnings.  However, they are not *always* a reason 
to prevent an upload.

That seems reasonable.  I use the pedantic flag on all my gcc compiles, but 
it isn't *always* a problem that requires an (immediate) fix.
