Ah, causing headaches was not my intention, indeed ;-) so I'd generally like 
to know about the troubles you have faced. Now, the package looks well done 
to me.

Uploaded. I also didn't forget to include both of your entries in the changes 
file. Thanks for your work!

Btw, the author is slowly but steadily progressing at the C++ rewrite, which I 
consider a very good idea.
