Maybe it is better that you change the bug name to an ITA (Intent To Adopt) one. Look at http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/ for "how the stuff works" with that.
I sent a message to the bug attempting to retitle it by following [1], but I'm not sure if I succeeded. I also uploaded a new package version to Debian Mentors, following the ITA procedure [2]. At least I think I followed procedure. If there's anything else that's needed please let me know.
