Not a DD, but has a few points you should consider looking into:

You did an epoch of the package calling it 1:1.4-1; any special reason
for that, if not you should change the version in debian/changelog
to 1.4-1.

The debian/copyright looks out-dated; you should look at changing the
license/copyright part of the file, and supply the new URL to the
upstream site.

You should add a debian/watch file.

Running "lintian -I" against the generated .deb gives a lot of "I:
nemesis: hyphen-used-as-minus-sign". There was a discussion on this list
about how to change this within the last few weeks, but can't seem to
find the message just now.
