Sure, these look good to me.

there are some minor issues & typos ("baord" vs. "board"), but the following
should work better (btw, I also hate scripting and love ada;-).

#!/bin/bash
set -e
VER=1.3 # change that whenever a newer version occurs
NAME=gtkwhiteboard
UPSTREAM=$NAME-$VER
DEBIANED=$NAME\_$VER
LOCATION=http://fuelnatchos.webng.com/gtkwhiteboard
#Create temporary directory
mkdir ./$UPSTREAM && cd ./$UPSTREAM
#Get upstream source
wget $LOCATION/$UPSTREAM.zip
unzip ./$UPSTREAM.zip
#Remove downloaded zip, binary-only file and win32-icon
rm -f $UPSTREAM.zip WiimoteLib.dll gtkwhiteboard.ico
#Repack
cd ..
tar -czf $DEBIANED+dfsg.orig.tar.gz $UPSTREAM --exclude=\.dll
#Move orig.tar.gz outside /debian
mv $DEBIANED+dfsg.orig.tar.gz ../
#Clean up
rm -rf ./$UPSTREAM
