Once you've read that, begin building your packages, use ‘lintian -I’
to catch problems in the resulting package before needing to ask for
help.

After building packages that get no complaints from ‘lintian -I’, or
when it complains about something that you don't understand even after
reading the relevant parts of the Debian documentation, come over to
the ‘debian-mentors’ mailing list where these topics are better
discussed.
