did you update your chroot? gcc in sid is 4.3, in lenny is 4.2.

To force it, in your .pbuilderrc (I've never tried by using them directly on
the shell):

EXTRAPACKAGES="gcc-4.3 g++-4.3 ${EXTRAPACKAGES}"
export CC="gcc-4.3" CXX="g++-4.3"

And try again.
