debconf best practice

Hello,

I'm working a package (an assistant) that should download some stuffs,
and save them in the tftpd directory. However, not all Debian tftpd
servers uses /var/lib/tftpboot[1]  

Is it a good practice to "grep in.tftpd /etc/inetd.conf" of the
installed system, the use the detected value in my postinst debconf
script ?

Also, what about using the result in a low priority debconf prompt ?
