Hi mentors,
Hello Kel!

I am seeking a sponsor for the following package, which provides a
module-assistant compatible layer for installation of the acerhk kernel
module required to operate special function keys on certain laptops. It
is for i386 only due to the nature of the bios call routines it
performs.
Thanks for this RFS. I'm using a Compal CL56 based notebook which use
this kind of software radio switch.
It's the last kernel module I use that it's not packaged into Debian!

How do you handle radio switch, if-pre-up.d ?
echo acerhk >> /etc/modules

In the last bios update for my own cl56 hardware, acerhk became less
critical for the software wlan switch (but absolutely required for the
special "hotkeys"). I only need to insert the module and everything is
sweet for me.

Kel.

We need this module! ;-)

Hi!

I just talked to Kel again.
He fixed the module to build against linux 2.6.18.
I hope somebody will be interrested in sponsoring this kernel module.

Once again, on my laptop this software is ESSENTIAL, I can't enable my wireless antenna without this module.

Best regards, Adam.
