Since we are talking about this, I'd like to mention exifautotran(1),
which also does that, and is my preferred one (maybe because I didn't
use jhead/jpegtran in the best way).
For me, a simple 'exifautotran *' in a directory containing (only) JPEG
images with the right Exif orientation tag Does The Right Thing.
% dpkg -S exifautotran
libjpeg-progs: /usr/bin/exifautotran
libjpeg-progs: /usr/share/man/man1/exifautotran.1.gz
