I'd say it's a bug.  I have a similar problem with the watch file of
mn-fit.  (Upstream chose to separate version number components with an
underscore instead of a dot.  I'm not using dversionmangle; instead I
have two groups of parentheses surrounding the two numerical components
-- see the URL below for my watch file.)  My guess is that DEHS doesn't
support unusual watch file features.
