Just rename downloaded .tgz to unidesc_2.15.1.orig.tar.gz and you'll be fine.

dpkg-source looks for unidesc_2.15.1.orig.tar.gz in ../ and failing to find
that repackages ../unidesc-2.15.1.orig.
