kk@ganymede:/usr/bin/X11$ pwd -P
/usr/X11R6/bin

as you can see that /usr/bin/X11 is just the dir you've been adressing
correctly. If there's no reason to use /usr/bin/X11, then just
use /usr/bin as do quite a lot of X11 apps.
