hwtools

Hi, i am working on the orphaned package "hwtools" which i took after reading
it's description. the surprise came after unpacking, a strange directory
called tpqic02-support-1.9b seems to be a driver for a tape device with a few
utilities, i'm wondering why this driver is in this package, it seems pretty
strange to me, added to the fact it's not even mentionned in debian/control.

In changelog i can see this :

  * "New" upstream release (timestamp is 1997-01-20 !) of qic02conf.
Indeed includes tpqic02-support 1.9b (removed precompiled binaries
from source). There are other programs here that may be useful, but I
have no idea which ones. Please users, use the BTS. Added an entry
      for this in copyright file.

But i don't see the point having a driver in the package of such utilities.
May someone enlight my way ?

I don't have such a device... will make tests a bit... difficult :P
