I did not know Nagios.

As far as I can see, it seems to have more features than Spong (more
monitored things, more status pages, more problem reporting ways.

However, what I particularly appreciate in Spong is that it is really
easy to deploy and to configure, Nagios seems to be more complex... so
it is aquestion of whether you need the additionnal features.

Spong is quite easy to extend, with plugins, for additionnal monitoring,
for example.

spong does not include native right management system but you can use
apache's one as there are serveral CGI scripts

so, is anyone interested in this package ? :)
