The implementation of a program has nothing to do with the functionality
it provides. If you re-implment the script in another language (e.g.
python) are you ready to file RC bugs on all packages that use the
program because they have to change the name of the executable?
(Plus it is ugly)
(Plus vim also enables syntax highlighting on #!/usr/bin/perl IIRC)
