looking for a sponsor for upsd...

I would like to rescue the orphaned package upsd, but I am hindered by the
minor detail that I'm not yet a Debian developer.

I have a new package put together for upsd with the newest upstream
version, one of the 2 outstanding bugs fixed (I need to look at the other
bug a little more to see what parts of it still apply after 4 years),
updated standards version, and it's now lintian clean.

So now I'm looking for a sponsor to check my work and help me rescue upsd
from an almost certain demise... (-=

background info:

upsd is a daemon that can watch a ups for power events (lost power,
restored power, battery low) via a serial interface. It sends power
events to init via the normal powerfail mechanism.

As for me, I've been using Debian for a while, and I've been packaging
my own software for easy installation/managment in Debian for a year or
two now. I do a lot of programming, mostly in ruby & C++, but perl, C,
and a few other languages are not a problem...

Thanks for your help!
