Why?
I think its better to do some work for Debian through a sponsor
*before* joining the NM Process. So you can show that you have the
knowledge, that you respond to bugs quickly and that you arent MIA
after the first Upload. (Ok, you can be MIA after the first own Upload,
but if you are working on your package for some weeks/month through a
sponsor it is not that likely)
