Different sponsors handle this in different ways. I prefer to keep an
eye on what's happening with the package, so I set things up for BTS
mails to be forwarded to both sponsor and sponsored. The following
info was posted by AJ on debian-devel last summer (msg#92613,
<20010718140632.A7155@blae.localnet>):
| * create a file klecker:~/.forward-sponsoring-foo, containing your
| email address and the person your sponsoring
|
| * set the Maintainer: field to be
| Maintainer: Foo (sponsored by Bar) \
| <bar-sponsoring-foo@klecker.debian.org>
| (unfortunately mail to people.debian.org doesn't seem to use the
| nifty filters)
|
| This assumes the sponsors going to be more involved with the package
| (and the sponsee) than to just upload a package once and then forget
| about it.
Of course, this might not be necessary if you trust in your
sponsoree's "package management" ability.
Cheers,
Richard
