Building on hppa

My package failed to build on hppa. I have updated the config.guess and
config.sub, which did fix some problems, but I cannot be 100% sure
whether it works now, as I cannot complete the compilation:
build-dependencies are not met. Is there a chroot on paer where these
dependencies are met, or how can I test whether this is all that needed
changing? (Or do I just upload and wait and see? I don't really want to
close the bug until it has been confirmed to work... (or should I close
and reopen later if it still fails?))

Thanks,
Hugo van der Merwe

(ps. what was that command one can run on the Debian machines that shows
a package's status in the different distro's ?)
