This was introduced in version 3.2.0.0. I should have been
mentioned in the changelog. Mea Culpa. Since it is a recommendation,
and not in any way required, it does not really belong in upgrading
checklist.
If people think that this did not get adequate publicity, we
could post an excerpt from the policy document on -devel.
