Reporting bugs in source packages
I have found what appears to be a bug in a source package (ucd-snmp-4.0.1).
The bug being that /usr/sbin/snmpd does not exist after installing the snmpd
.deb created from the sources with "dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b -us
-uc". It *does* show up when installing a package made from sources with
"dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -ppgp".
My question is:
1) What further testing shall I do to verify that this is the case (and not
my error)? And is this actually a bug, or just a shortcoming of running
dpkg-buildpackage with -b or something?
2) What's the proper procedure for reporting a bug on a source package? The
source package creates four .deb's (libsnmp4.0, libsnmp4.0, snmp_4.0, and
snmpd_4.0). Shall I just report the bug on snmpd_4.0, as that's the package
that's having the problems, even though the snmpd package downloaded from
the debian mirrors works okay?
