Do you need conflicts here?
What about package downgrades?
eg if I were to downgrade to aspell 0.28.2.1-2, surely files will conflict
with libaspell3 (which may not have been downgraded and/or removed yet)?
The reason I ask is because when downgrading from cvs in potato (which I
manually compiled for slink), to the slink version, a number of errors
occured because files in the old cvs package conflicted with files from
the new cvs-doc package.
I haven't filed a bug report concerning this - should I?
Last I heard, it was the goal of dpkg to allow downgrades as well as
upgrades, so I think this should really be fixed.
Feel free to repost into debian-devel as appropriate.
