Seems to be that since the Red Hat packages carry different names and are
broken up differently (different individual files in different packages)
some sort of map needs to be built that relates the RH file lists to
Debian .list files.  That could be a very difficult job and will be
EXTREMELY difficult to maintain over different Red Hat and Debian
versions.  Imagine the havoc that the Debian X restructuring would have
played on such a package.

What if RH does something like that?  You will need several different such
packages, one for each possible mapping of Red Hat version to a Debian
version.  You would likely need one for RH-5.0 to Deb-2.1, RH-5.1 to
Deb-2.1, RH5.2 to Deb-2.1, etc.

Might be far more trouble than it is worth.
