Hi Charles, Charles Plessy, on 2025-09-04: > Therefore I wonder if we can retire from using pristine-tar? As far as I've been involved, upstream and pristine-tar always felt redundant to me, despite trying to understand the reasons why the latter was introduced in typical Debian workflows. With the move to tag2upload, I would agree it would be a good time to sunset our pristine-tar usage if we want to simplify things. That being said, I would wait for more experienced Developpers to comment on the topic, since I feel I might miss some rationale for using pristine-tar which could still apply. > Have a nice day!
