Hi Pierre, Am Mon, Sep 16, 2024 at 07:24:04AM +0200 schrieb Pierre Gruet:I would like to remove libsis-jhdf5-java from unstable. To be accurate, it is rather a proposal by pini in the bug log https://bugs.debian.org/1078968 which is about libsis-jhdf5-java blocking the upcoming auto-hdf5 transition. pini and I looked at it and it seems difficult to see what changes would be needed in libsis-jhdf5-java to make it build against hdf5 1.14.x . Meanwhile, upstream does not seem to be active anymore, the orig repo is unreachable... I have reworked the two rdeps of the package, fastqc and megan-ce, so that they don't need sis-jhdf5.The only reason why sis-jhdf5 was packaged was fastqc (possibly later megan-ce was profitting from it).
Ok, thanks for the information!
This was done by removing some classes from the build. This does not affect their rdeps. fastqc and megan-ce have reached testing, so that libsis-jhdf5-java now has no rdep in unstable nor testing. If no voice is raised, I will proceed with the removal of libsis-jhdf5-java from unstable within a week.Sounds perfectly fine as long as fastqc and megan-ce are fine and are passing their tests.
I can confirm they are :)
Cc-ing the current other uploaders so that no one misses it.Thanks for the ping and caring for Debian Med Java packages.
You're welcome, thanks for being supportive and granting time to give advice on the packages of the team!
Kind regards Andreas.
All the best, -- Pierre
