I've been thinking about during the weekend. So our company's position is that
if the community wants to package for specific distro, that's completely fine
by us, but we won't provide support for those packages (as that's the
maintainers job).

However, I could be willing to volunteer personally to help maintain the Debian
package if there's nobody else who could do it. I would do it in my personal
capacity and spare time after work.

Hello,

Would there be a away to have you SaunaFS folks maintain a Debian package directly? Debian has this "Maintainer" concept that grants individuals the right to update packages - you need a sponsor for the initial upload but then you can help yourselves
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMaintainer ;.

Debian has a steady influx of new packages https://ircbots.debian.net/stats/ but from what I observe the number of Debian developers is mostly steady https://github.com/jwilk/dd-num-graph, so extra hands are important.

Best,
Steffen
