Thanks for reaching out to me about QSopt-ex. Currently I don't have time to get directly involved in the packaging and maintenance for Debian but I can possibly be of minor assistance if someone decides to take up the task. As you may already know, the QSopt-ex repository contains source for building Ubuntu packages which I presume could be used as the basis creating proper Debian packages.

I'm contacting you on behalf of the Debian Med team, a group within Debian that packages software for biology and medicine. I see that you've taken up maintenance of the QSopt-ex solver. I've recently packaged cobrapy [1] for Debian, which would really be enhanced by the inclusion of QSopt-ex.
I was wondering if you would like to maintain the .deb packages you created as part of our team and we can work on getting it officially included into Debian (and Ubuntu, by extension). You might be interested to check out Debian Med's mentorship arrangement [2] to help quickly overcome the requirements of the Debian policy.
