readseq2

Hi,
I am a Debian package maintainer, and while trying to package readseq v2, we found that it embeds software with different copyrights/licenses though it is claimed to be public domain (http://iubio.bio.indiana.edu/soft/molbio/readseq/java/Readseq2-help.html#Availability).

Some java sources are copyrighted by Sun Microsystems.

And src/flybase/FastVector and FastStack prevent commercial usage (and as such prevent readseq from being used in commiercial case):
 * @(#)Stack.java^I1.12 95/08/11
 *
 * Copyright (c) 1994 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
 *
 * Permission to use, copy, modify, and distribute this software
 * and its documentation for NON-COMMERCIAL purposes and without
 * fee is hereby granted provided that this copyright notice
 * appears in all copies. Please refer to the file "copyright.html"
 * for further important copyright and licensing information.

 * THE SOFTWARE, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED
 * TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A
 * PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SUN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR
 * ANY DAMAGES SUFFERED BY LICENSEE AS A RESULT OF USING, MODIFYING OR
 * DISTRIBUTING THIS SOFTWARE OR ITS DERIVATIVES.
 */

src/flybase/utils has code from:
  "part of the HTTPClient package, Copyright (C) 1996,1997  Ronald Tschalae"
but we do not know what license is applied to this code

Could you please clarify license(s) for the provided the code and update your license accordingly.

Regarding flybase non-commercial code, can it be safelly removed in a way or an other to keep the software free of use ?

Current code is not compliant with claimed license and has usage restrictions.

Regards
