FWIW -- I also have only 1 maximized terminal open in the virtual
desktop 1 with my mutt within screen session 1, and irssi in 9, so I
just switch to 9 there to see if anything interesting happening; but
otherwise I do not monitor it ;-)

If I do need to monitor it for a bit, I spit screen session in two
horizontal ones so I could see both mutt and irssi and the same time;
but that happens rarely ;)
