Sure, that's one of the main purposes of the Debian Med project.

It is actually no "plus" to have a package which is in Debian also in
Debian Med because Debian Med *is* Debian.  We just make sure that Debian
is prepared best for medical care.

Usually we are maintaining the packaging code in a version control system.
You are free to decide between Git and SVN.

You can do this but if the packaging stuff is in Debian Med Vcs there is
no real need to do so.

Usually it works like this:

  1. Create an account on alioth.debian.org (see policy "Membership")
  2. Ask for membership in Debian Med (see the other link in "Membership")
  3. Once you are a member make really sure you have read and understand
     the paragraph "SSH tips" in policy (try: ssh svn.debian.org !!!)
  4. Commit your packaging stuff
  5. Subscribe the Debian Med mailing list and ping us for checking the
      packaging
