Dirk and Charles were not in favour of having a Debian package for
cran2deb in the past. They may have changed their opinion by now. There
is a bit of a hen-and-egg problem with r-cran-digest, which is also
created by Dirk (as upstream) but not in our main distribution.
I had added the "debian" directory to the cran2deb source tree. It works
for me - but still leaves some considerable bits for a human soul to
fiddle here and there. The build and run time dependencies should all
be fine.
I suggest to just give it some more time and collect more experiences.
Best,
Steffen
