That's really cool and might provide a really interesting source of
information if we want to define our next targets for packaging.
BTW, in Debian there is Popularity Contest[1] which tries to implement
an objective measure based on the number of installations and actually
really used and actively upgraded packages. We are listing the popcon
results on the Debian Med tasks pages[2] for each program. However, we
are aware that also this measure is not really the best criterion to
have objective values for certain reasons.

This is a really great list. I just linked to it from our development
page[3] and our ToDo list in the Debian Wiki[4]. Is there any way to
report projects which are wrongly listed on the page above. For
instance entry number 43 "Visualization Toolkit (VTK)" is packaged
for Debian (libvtk5.4 in unstable and libvtk5.2 in testing). Or is
the list just based on stable Debian releases?
