health care including position papers.
Many thanks for your interest in Debian Med (which is probably the reason
for your mail). I'm really happy to hear about this workshop - and
specifically I like the title "The time is ripe".
By submitting a paper you additionally have the opportunity
to promote your open source product and let the audience participate in
your experience in the open source in health care sector.
I admit I would really like to submit a paper - but it definitely needs at
least two weeks preparation - three days is just a little bit short.
If your not able to submit a paper due to the short time frame you may
profit from the workshop by actively participating in the discussion
sessions and the market place for developers/users that we are planing
for the workshop. Please help us in promoting the workshop in your
community.
I would like to do so and I will foreward your mail to the Debian Med
mailing list (I guess there is nothing private). I also would really
like to join the workshop to explain my vision of a Free Software health
care platform based on Debian GNU/Linux as I did in several talks
http://people.debian.org/~tille/talks/
before. Unfortunately I do not get support for my Free Software work
from my employer (except that it is tolerated) and thus I always have
to ask for covering travel expenses and accomodation if I join a Free
Software event. I have no idea if this kind of support for the participiants
is possible and so I might end up by only providing a paper ... but as I
said before I need two weeks (I just have to prepare another talk for
Linux-Info-Tag on 8. November, right after coming back from OSWC in
Málaga last week - you see I'm a little bit busy with talking about
Debian Med ... ;-) ).
Hope to see you in Porto in January 2009.
I would really like to but in case it might not happen - just keep me
informed about the next event of this kind.
Thanks for the invitation
Andreas.
Best regards,
Thomas Karopka

projects at our conference to exchange ideas and identify areas where we
may work together.
Please help us in spreading this call for papers in your community.
