3D reconstruction from CT scan slices

Hello,
is there an open source software for 3D reconstuction of human organs,
tissues, parts etc. from CT scan slices (eg. DICOM 2D images)? Something like
the commercial software Mimics.

Although, there are freely available geometrical models of human parts (eg.
bones), it is important to have patient specific models, for further
biomechanical analysis (e.g. with finite elements), which I am interested in.
The open source finite element package "freefem3d" looks promising for such
analyses.

Best Regards,
Dimitris
