I don't know about all the changes but if the pdflib is missing from
Debian and would introduce license trouble it might be worth tho think
about to patching the source to exclude the PDF feature and thus making
it work without this lib. While this is an ugly cut off it might be
worth the effort regarding other interesting features. But I'll
leave the decision to the maintainer.
