Can I contribute software to the project?

Hello folks at the Debian-Med project.

My name is Jason Barraclough, and I am a second year, post-graduate
(BBiomedSci) medical student from Melbourne University, Victoria
Australia. In my spare time I program in Java, and Fortran 90/95.

I am not experienced in the development of operating systems or the
packaging of linux distros, but I love writing software for linux.

I am currently working on a Java program that assists students in
taking lecture notes for medical subjects. It is one of the side
shoot projects of my sf.net account "avian freeware suite". It is
still in it's infancy, but I plan it to be good enough for use later
on for things like conferences and improving speed of typing with
medical word completion etc etc etc... Having said this, it is
currently sufficient for my needs in class (i use it currently).

I am a newbie as far as releasing software for open source goes, hence
I have not uploaded the current level of the program on the internet
yet, but will do so shortly when I have some spare time (currently
v0.5 alpha, and capable of taking basic lecture notes/PBL tutes, and
viewing them later)

I have been watching the development of Debian Med closely now for the
last few months and will continue to do so. It would be great to get
some of my software distributed with it, if you think I'm upto
scratch.

Yours sincerely,
Jason Barraclough.

PS. All my software will be released under GNU GPL
