Report: Debian-Med Day @ DebConf

Hi,

just some summarizing of Debian-Med day:

The talk was attended by 10-20 people (did not exactly count). Regarding
the fact that the talk was in the morning and the nights here in Helsinki
were not only bright but sometimes loud which makes people trouble getting
asleep this is not bad.

The interesting thing to me was that many of these people did not even
knowed about Debian-Med. I suggested them to sign up the Debian-Med list
and join our effort.

After the talk six people joined me in a smaller room to work down some
things which are on my todo list. The main topics where:

   - Automatically build our webpages
   - Have an overview about the bugs of the dependencies
   - Provide links to the wnpp packages which are tagged for Debian-Med
(as it is described in http://people.debian.org/~tille/cdd/ap-bts.en.html)

which are basically things which are interesting for all other Custom
Debian Distribution - but currently the others do not really care about this
so we should try to find a working prototype for the implementation which
should be not really hard. COntact me in case you want to start with this.

Moreover I hope we get just another web site manager to split the work
a little bit.

Moreover we discussed the chances of getting GnuMed and perhaps other
practice management systems included and we found some reasonal dependencies
for a med-research package.

As always you can find the slides at
      http://people.debian.org/~tille/talks/

Greetings from DebConf 5 in Helsinki

        Andreas.
