Hi, I just noticed the new version of Mate uploaded to sid. A bug exists that won't allow a keyboard user to move across the top panel with the tab key. The patch was fixed by upstream Mate in https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-panel/commit/a2cdef91974fbe83995791e98f19ed58ec04a43c I will check to make sure it applies and builds to the stable version tomorrow but I wanted to alert the list as soon as I saw this get uploaded.
