Bug#928762: mate-media: Impossible to change volume without going to Sound Preferences

Package: mate-media
Version: 1.16.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The following methods fail to change output volume:
- clicking on the sound icon in the notification area and using the popup slider
- using volume keys on the keyboard

Even using these methods to completely mute the volume doesn't work.

The only way to change the volume is to go to Sound Preferences and use the slider on the top of the window, or the slider for specific application in the tab "Applications"

I tried to change the device profile in the "Hardware" tab of Sound Preferences, but none of the profiles managed to fix the issue.
