Bug#910860: Notification area in MATE closes unexpectedly at system start

Package: mate-panel
Version: 1.16.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags:

Dear maintainer

I use Debian Jessie with the MATE desktop environment.

At system start, an error window appears regularly stating that the notification area has closed unexpectedly. It offers the possibility to reload the panel object and that works: the loudspeaker and wireless network signal strength indicator appear.

System log:

This problem may have been fixed in version 1.20, see
https://mate-desktop.org/blog/2018-02-07-mate-1-20-released/
but I am not sure.

Anyway, I hope that this problem can be solved. And when it has been solved, I suggest that the solution takes effect in the next point release of Debian Stable.

With kind regards

Maarten
