A public version will be released. The stabilization of the API is expected for GTK 4.22 but GTK4 will be stable when the dev will stops to breaks the API. I did seehttp://wiki.mate-desktop.org/roadmap but didn't see anything about initial support for libgtk-4-0 .
There is a work to remove deprecated features that will be dropped in GTK4. Best regards, Alex.
