First, thanks for taking care of communication with the maintainer as
part of your frontdesk duty.

Is there a place where we document the status quo of what maintainers do
prefer regarding LTS updates of their packages? I'm not aware of such a
document and I already wondered about it earlier.

For now, I search the debian-lts list archives to find out about
possible earlier statements by the maintainer(s).
