The version of mediawiki used is hopelessly outdated, unfortunately.
But you can probably pick up what’s still there for 1.19, maybe
backport the occasional fix by hand. (I don’t follow their new
releases either.)

I’d most certainly *not* mark it as “supported”.

I’ve brought it up to 1.19.24, but that was the last upstream 1.19
release, and ever since, any support for it ended, and upstream
doesn’t even indicate whether a bug affects some old version any
more. (I may have backported _some_ patches.)

This is all publically viewable at
https://evolvis.org/plugins/scmgit/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=evolvis-platfrm/mediawiki.git
but you will not want 806920fedd4644bcc0b092eaefae54db18263d5e
in Debian, nor part of this diff:
https://evolvis.org/plugins/scmgit/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=evolvis-platfrm/mediawiki.git;a=commitdiff;h=7c5d49e935dffe1999900db9e11b59c217cea9b9;hp=77e1558c2ec0548f015c2fa8d9084606567ddc8a
(You do want the changes to mediawiki.links and d/s/options.)

That’s all “as is”. We’re currently reconsidering what to do with
mediawiki as well. But since it could be useful, and anarcat posted
about it on Planet Debian, I thought to share.
