Dear Maintainer,

Building a live ISO on Trixie (testing).

Since the Plasma 6 upgrade I am unable to autologin a live session.

Trixie version info:
ii lightdm 1.32.0-6+b1
ii plasma-workspace 4:6.2.5-1

live-config is configured in /etc/live/config.conf.d/solydxk.conf:
export LIVE_HOSTNAME="solydxk"
export LIVE_USERNAME="solydxk"
export LIVE_USER_FULLNAME="SolydXK Live user"
export LIVE_USER_DEFAULT_GROUPS="adm,audio,bluetooth,cdrom,dialout,fax,floppy,fuse,lpadmin,netdev,plugdev,powerdev,sambashare,scanner,sudo,tape,users,vboxsf,vboxusers,video,systemd-journal"

This results in a configured /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf:
[Seat:*]
autologin-user=solydxk
autologin-user-timeout=0

Adding live-config.username=solydxk to the boot parameter did not solve the issue.

I am unable to pinpoint whether this is a live-config or a lightdm issue. However, because the Plasma 5 ISO and the Xfce4 Trixie ISOs do autologin I suspect that lightdm is already started before live-config finishes the configuration.

If needed I can upload a Plasma 6 ISO to our server.

Hello Arjen,

It's been a while, but it took some time for me to get to the conclusion that I could not solve this. I eventually chose to switch to SDDM. This solved all issues. Autologin worked and I could login with Wayland without getting thrown back to the login screen.

By switching to sddm, you are now using the same configuration as KDE does, and that has been shown to work. I'll close this ticket.

I'll add my log files if you are interested.

There are so many items logged, many of which are not specific to SolydXK.

With kind regards,
Roland Clobus
