Bug#1095752: debian-live: Newly installed software cannot be displayed in application manager on KDE desktop
Package: debian-live
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: 2379401911@qq.com
Dear Maintainer,
I recently installed Debian 12.9.0 with KDE desktop (amd64) by using a live CD
`.iso` file. After downloading some applications like obs-studio and vlc, I
found that they can't be correctly displayed in application manager. However, I
can start them in terminal. After checking, I found that this issue was
mentioned by someone in 2019. See this:
https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/78349174?utm_psn=1872047636346957824.
The solution is that make an `applications` folder in `~/.local/share/`. Easy
but it seems to be a common problem of KDE desktop. Others met same trouble in
OpenSEUS, Archlinux or some other linux OS. I would like to ask if it is
possible to add this folder automatically in future distributions of Debian to
correct error.
Thank you very much for your efforts. Debian is my favorite Linux OS. I hope
one day I can also join the ranks of Debian contributors xD
