I did an in-depth investigation some time ago, see the following thread: https://lists.debian.org/debian-live/2020/03/msg00225.htmlThe live images for Debian 9, 10 and 11 are not built by 'live-build', but by 'live-wrapper'. That explains why the 'live-images' repository is out of date.
At this moment, there are no weekly live images being built for Debian 12 (bookworm) and sid. There are plans to start that again, but it takes some time to re-start it.
