Hello lists, here is the fifth update of the status for reproducible live-build ISO images [1].
* The frequency for testing bullseye (stable) has been reduced to montly * Bookworm (testing) is now tested weekly and sid (unstable) daily [2] ** Two Perl sorting issues have been found in dictionaries-common [3][4]** I'll need feedback from the maintainer about the intended behaviour before a patch can be written ** Diffoscope needs about 2 hours (!) to find the differences in the squashfs images that are embedded in the ISO images * I've looked at OpenQA for testing the freshly generated live images, some basic functionality tests will run soon
Future plans/ideas:* I've initiated a discussion on a method for recording the configuration used by live-build in September
** Next step: test some scenarios and write a proposal* Reprotest might be used instead of just 2 builds without a short time frame, to capture more variations
* I will test the functionality of the generated ISO images using OpenQA * Long term: When live-build images are working fine, the work could be extended to other images, e.g. the live-wrapper images, the netinst images or perhaps even Docker images * When it is ready, switch to snapshot.reproducible-builds.org?
